A Place Called Home

When my husband and I moved here in 1979 from another state we did not actively seek a church. He was gone a lot with his job; I could not find a job in my field and we had no family here. For me life was very lonely and I spent a lot of time searching… for something.

When our children were born, we decided it was time to find a church to give them the basics of Chirst. I am a strong believer that no parent can raise a child alone. It does take a family; …“a village” to keep them on the right track. This church has become our "village" ... our extended family.

I have never met such a group of caring, non-judgmental people who work together to nurture each other, learn from each other, as well as serve our community. They truly are the "hands of Christ" reaching out to one another. Quote from Church Member

We have many ways for fun, learning and sharing.

Family Programs:

Church meals:

· Potluck luncheons the 2nd Sunday of each month. (Bring a dish to share)

· Periodic Church Breakfast and Christmas and Easter.

· Sunday morning coffee hour at 9:30-10:00.

· Wed Nite Live suppers at 5:30 pm every week. We join together for a meal then off to our various classes.

Service and Play events:

· Church Picnic

· Church Soccer game.

· Church ice cream social

· Swim Parties

· Pumpkin Patch

· Collecting can goods at Halloween

· Trunk or treat in our parking lot.

· Scavenger Hunts with our youth

· Slip and Slide down our front slope.

· Round Robin Dinners (Adults only)

· Various Service Projects around our community

o Mowing and raking leaves for our elderly
o Taking baskets of goodies to elderly at Christmas
